I have ADHD, I'm not good at finishing articles but when I tell you I read this one to the VERY end. I love the part about how being disenfranchised from academia gave Yiddish writers more freedom to capture the parts of history that Israel wanted to supress.

i was wondering, could you detail who'd you cast to play in a movie version of the provoke outrage universe? obviously the hamilton cast members for the main characters, but, uh, yeah

Well, I am absolutely THRILLED that you asked, and this is going to be a very long response, but, as you all know, I am nothing if not wordy, and I love to talk about my writing. First, I have been “casting” characters since I began writing Provoke Outrage because I’m a visual thinker and usually “see” the scenes in my head before I write them, so I needed physical representations of the characters for those scenes to play properly in the movie theater of my mind (psych majors, feel free to explain this to me).

Note: I am allowed all the artistic license I want in casting, and I can time travel, Dr.-Who-like, if I need to, so that the Karen Olivo of In the Heights (character age of Vanessa is 20) is the contemporary of the actually-right-now 24-year-old Timothée Chalamet, who is playing the role of a 30-year-old.

For all the characters who appear in the musical, the casting is generally the OBC, with these exceptions: President Washington, Samuel Seabury, Thomas “TJ” Jefferson, and Madison “Maddie” James are uncast. Philip Hamilton isn’t born until somewhere between I Go to France and More of Us, so he’s not cast as of now.

Characters not listed are probably uncast, but I may have left some out, so please ask if you want to know. I’m only now realizing that there are SO MANY CHARACTERS in this verse.
